Olasagasti – Tradition from the Basque coast since 1923

For over a century, Olasagasti has produced exceptional fish conservas on Spain’s Basque coast. The company’s roots trace back to Sicilian fisherman Salvatore Olasagasti, who brought traditional anchovy-curing techniques to the Cantabrian coast, where they continue to be refined today.

Every tin reflects a commitment to quality over speed. The fish is carefully selected, prepared using traditional methods, and packed with the same attention to detail that has defined Olasagasti for generations. Rather than masking the ingredients, the recipes are intentionally simple, allowing the natural flavour and texture of the fish to take centre stage.

The range includes silky Bonito del Norte, prized ventresca, Cantabrian sardeller and classic Basque recipes that celebrate one of Europe’s great seafood traditions. Whether enjoyed on good bread, alongside fresh vegetables or as part of a shared aperitif, these are conservas made to be savoured.

At Toasté, we look for producers whose products combine outstanding ingredients with genuine craftsmanship. Olasagasti is a perfect example of that philosophy: timeless fish conservas made with care, tradition and respect for the sea.
