Real Conservera Española

Real Conservera Española is a family-run cannery from Cambados, on Galicia’s Ría de Arousa. Its roots go back to 1920, when the Peña family began producing conservas in this corner of Galicia – a region where fishing, shellfish gathering and canning have shaped local food culture for generations.

The philosophy is simple: exceptional conservas begin with exceptional ingredients. Fish and shellfish are carefully selected according to origin, season and quality, with a particular focus on the riches of the Galician rías. Much of the preparation and packing is still done by hand, using restrained recipes designed to preserve the texture and natural flavour of the seafood.

This meticulous approach has earned Real Conservera Española remarkable international recognition, with numerous products reaching the top positions in the World’s 101 Best Canned Products from the Sea. From delicate small sardines and mackerel to prized Galician shellfish, these are conservas made for the ingredient to take centre stage.
