A Portuguese conserva from José Gourmet made with Atlantic horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus) in a bright pickled sauce. The fish has a firm, savoury character, balanced by tomato, vinegar, onion, red pepper, piri-piri, paprika and bay leaf.
Serve with good bread, boiled potatoes or a crisp salad, or add it to an aperitivo spread. Tangy, gently spiced and full of coastal Portuguese character.
